Terra Layne is a multifaceted artist passionate about bringing characters to life on stage and screen. Terra continues their practice in method acting, infusing their performances with bold and honest choices . Terra has been recognized for their talents, winning Best Performance at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, and the Revolution Me Film Festival, where they were awarded Best Actress. Terra was also nominated for Best Actress at the Boston Scifi Festival and Catskills International Film Festival. With a background in athletics, dance, and modeling, Terra is obsessed with movement and seeing how far she can push herself.
Terra is an active member on stage, as an actor and director, working with writers such as Gracie Gardner, Matthew Gasda, Roman D’Ambrosio, and Richie Radici. Working on projects at Arts on Site, Adult Film, Brooklyn Center for Theater Research, WAH Center, and more.
Fall 2025 Terra is filming a feature film, Red Dog, by Sara Newton and developing a one woman play they aim to produce and act in. If you are interested or know of any good directors give them a shout!
What?
Terra graduated from the University of Vermont with a dual degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. After graduating they moved to Australia to explored the world outside the US for two years. She’s lived aboard for a couple years, in Australia and traveling on her own across countries and continents. They’ve hike New Zealand’s Te Araroa for 2.5 months by themself and cycling from Istanbul to Venice. A self-proclaimed extreme sports enthusiast, in their free time, you can catch them out surfing the beaches of NYC, teaching tennis, which they played semi-professionally, surfing, practicing yoga & meditation or taking their parrot Pooja, a 43-year-old Amazon, for a walk.
